Having a plant in your place will really class up the joint. They look nice, and they make you look like you’re connected with nature or something because, hey, you can keep a plant alive. If you pick the right plant, that job isn’t actually all that difficult. Try to give them as much direct sunlight as possible, water them as needed, and you should see them live long and look good doing it.
This plant gets its name from its resilience in the face of neglect. Even in darker conditions, these plants have been known to thrive.
This colorful plant is another air purifier and it produces a lot of oxygen. In exchange, it doesn’t ask for much: just some sunlight and a little water.
Of all the plants on this list, this one requires the most watering--about twice as much water as most of them. It’s still not that hard to care for, though, and it looks awesome. They’re like spikier, smaller, slower growing palm trees.
Plants of this species are as diverse as they are easy to care for. Owners can let the topsoil dry out between waterings with no consequences. Be careful, though, these plants are poisonous to cats and dogs.
Yet another air purifier. This plant looks like a snake plant with longer, droopier leaves, but the two are equally easy to care for, requiring little light and water.
This plant survives on a miniscule amount of water. Some people even recommend letting the soil completely dry out in between waterings. This plant, too, is a natural air purifier.
This sharp, pointy plant is commonly called “Mother-in-Law’s Tongue,” and it is a natural air purifier. On top of that, it requires very little water and even less light to stay alive. Talk about low-maintenance.
This plant is one of the coolest looking low maintenance plants around, plus it’s commonly sold as a “money tree.” Their size varies quite a bit, but their ability to thrive on fluorescent lighting makes them the perfect houseplant.
Some believe this plant brings good luck, so having it couldn’t hurt. Plus, if the plants are taken care of, they can live over 100 years. These plants are small and grow slowly, so naturally they don’t require a lot of watering.
This plant isn’t just tough looking (spiky) and easy to care for; it’s useful too. Break a blade off this spiky plant, squeeze the gel from it, and you’ve got a salve to treat cuts and burns.
