With a growing concern for public health, school cafeterias are getting rid of some of those tasty concoctions that were oh-so-bad for us (but tasted oh-so-good). Here are some glimpses of wonderfulness that you looked forward to in the lunch line that your kids may never get to experience.
Did we know what they were made out of? Not a clue. Did it matter? Of course not. Don’t act like like you didn’t slip these bad boys on your fingers and eat them off.

The nature of this beast always scared me a little. It’s like a hot dog, but even less discernible because it's completely covered in fried batter. Just slap some mustard on it. It’ll be fine.

In school, my friends and I would get ridiculously excited for what we referred to as “Gravy Day,” the day when we they would serve chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes in the cafeteria. My mouth is watering as I’m typing this.
