With a student employment rate of 88.61%, the University of Wyoming sits at the top of the rankings for the state--but near the bottom for this list. 

The school is located in Laramie, WY, which is unusual because this location is explicitly spelled out in the Wyoming constitution. They enroll just over 12,000 students a year. 

Castleton University of Vermont ranks highest in the state, with a post-graduation employment rate of 94.66%

The school currently enrolls about 1,800 students and offers 30 undergraduate degrees and two master’s programs. 

The University of Alaska at Anchorage tops the employment charts for the state with an employment rate of 83.35%. While that might be high for the state, it’s actually on the low side for this list of colleges. 

The Anchorage campus is the largest in the University of Alaska system with an enrollment of almost 18,000. The college is important as a research institution for the area and offers undergraduate research options not available at many other public universities. 

The University of North Dakota has a student employment rate of 94.18%, making it the best in the state. Located in Grand Forks, ND, the school enrolls over 13,000 students. 

While the school originally began as a liberal arts college, it expanded to included the sciences over time. It’s currently the law school and medical school in the state. 

Augustana University of South Dakota ranks highest in the state, with an employment rate of 96.05%. It’s also the second highest on this list, right behind Quinnipiac University. 

Located in Sioux Falls, this private school only has about 2,000 students. However, it’s consistently ranked as one of the best colleges in the region. 

The University of Delaware topped the charts for the state with an employment rate of 93.82%. The school is also the largest in the state with almost 25,000 students and is located in Camden, DE. 

The school offers hundreds of undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs, but is probably most famous for its research related to science and engineering. 

Providence College in Rhode Island tops the charts for schools in the state. Their student employment rate is 95.28%. 

The school has an emphasis on the liberal arts and enrolls almost 4,500 students a year. Classes are only taught by full-time professors, and the school accepts less than half of students that apply. 

With an 89.81% post-graduation employment rate, Montana State University proves to be the best school choice in the state. With over 16,000 students and hundreds of degrees, it’s also the largest university in Montana. 

Located in Bozeman, MSU is a major research institution, sometimes spending more than $100 million in a year on it--with much of the research focusing on the ecosystem of Yellowstone. 

The University of New England is a private school in Biddeford, Main. It has the best post-graduation employment rate in the state at 93.65%. 

With an enrollment of almost 14,000, the University of New England is also the largest private university in Maine. While it offers over 70 degrees, it’s most well-known as a training ground for healthcare professionals. 

In terms of employment numbers, the University of New Hampshire School of Law ranks highest in the state. They’ve currently got a post-graduation employment rate of 93.28%. 

The University is the only law school in the state of New Hampshire, and it’s most popularly known for its program on intellectual property law. 

With a post-graduation employment rate of 89.08%, Hawaii Pacific University is the top-ranked school in the state. However, this rate puts them on the lower end of the spectrum of top schools. 

Located in Honolulu, Hawaii Pacific University is one of the largest private universities in the Pacific with an enrollment of nearly 5,000. The biggest programs the school offers are in business administration, nursing, and social work. 

West Virginia Wesleyan College has a post-graduation employment rate of 91.28%, making it the best in the state. 

The school offers over 40 undergraduate degrees, and it’s student body is a little less than 1,500. 

Located in Caldwell, Idaho, The College of Idaho has the best employment rate in the state at 90.04%. This private liberal arts college was founded in 1891 and enrolls about 1,000. 

The most popular majors on campus include biology, business, and psychology, but over 25 undergraduate degrees are offered in total. 

The University of Nebraska Medical Center has a student employment rate of 94.96%, making it the highest-ranked school in the state. 

UNMC is massive, with a hospital and four colleges. It’s estimated to have an economic impact of over $4 billion in the region. 

The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology has a student employment rate of 87.12%. That puts it at the top for New Mexico, but it’s also the lowest on this list. 

The school (also known as New Mexico Tech) is one of the most in-demand small colleges for science and engineering. They currently enroll about 1,500 students. 

Baker University is a private liberal arts college in Baldwin City, Kansas and has the best employment rate in the state at 93.1%. The school was founded in 1858 and enrolls more than 3,000 students. 

The college is made up of three different schools including education, arts, and professional programs. 

The University of Mississippi is the state’s largest university as well as the best for post-graduation employment prospects. They come in at 91.42%. 

Located in Oxford, MS, the university is a major research school in the United States and enrolls almost 25,000 students total. 

In Arkansas, job prospects for graduates are best at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. They currently have a 93.06% rate of employment after leaving the school. 

UAMS is a public medical school that includes academics in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, and public health. In addition to being the highest ranked school in the state, it’s also the largest public employer in Arkansas with over 10,000 employees. 

The University of Nevada-Reno tops the charts for the state with a post-graduation employment rate of 88.75%. Established in 1874, the school now boasts an enrollment of over 21,000 students.

The school is a major research institution in the United States--with much of that time and money going towards civil engineering and earthquake safety. 

The University of Dubuque has a post-graduation employment rate of 94.72%, making it the best college in Iowa. This private university enrolls roughly 2,220 students. 

The school’s main draw is its theological school, but it also offers education in business, liberal arts, and professional programs. Interestingly, Tony Danza is a notable alumni of this school. 

With a student employment rate of 88.38%, Westminster College ranks best of all the schools in Utah. It is currently the only liberal arts school to be accredited in the state. 

The school has ranked highly in several college lists, and these include best schools for Veterans and best liberal arts school in the region. 

Quinnipiac University has a post-graduation employment rate of 96.10%, making it the top school in Connecticut and this list. Located in Camden, CT, the private university is probably most famous for its Polling Institute. 

The college offers students almost 60 undergraduate degrees and 20 graduate degrees. However, it’s biggest draw seems to be its highly developed television and media programs. 

Oklahoma Wesleyan University beats out all the other schools in the state in terms of student employment. It currently sits at 88.91%

This small, private college is located in Bartlesville and enrolls just over 1,000 students. In addition to its high employment numbers, the university also sometimes ranks highly among regional universities. 

When it comes to Oregon, employment rates don’t get better than for graduates of the University of Portland. 92.51% of graduates here find employment after college. 

The school currently enrolls over 4,000 students and offers degrees in numerous areas. However, its school of nursing is typically considered one of its most important and popular programs. 

No, it’s not *that* Georgetown, but it’s still a good place to go. It has the highest post-graduation employment rate in Kentucky at 92.22%. 

This private liberal arts school enrolls 1,500 students in Georgetown, KY and is most well-known for its programs in pre-med and education. 

Auburn University topped the charts for Alabama with an employment rate of 91.39%. Located in Auburn, Alabama, it’s one of the state’s two flagship public universities. 

Auburn is considered not only one of the best Universities in Alabama but also the country, as it consistently makes many “best of” rankings. Interestingly enough, the school’s architecture and interior design are often a big sell for the campus. 

The Military College of South Carolina (a.k.a. The Citadel) is the best in the state when it comes to employment. Their rate is currently 94.29%. 

The school is one of only six senior military colleges and enrolls almost 3,700 students. It’s considered one of the best schools to get a master’s degree from. 

St. John’s University boasts a 95.16% post-graduation employment rate for its students, making it the best in Minnesota. Located in Collegeville, MN, St. John’s is an all-male Catholic school whose female counterpart is the College of St. Benedict. 

In addition to having good job prospects after graduation, almost 95% of students finish their degree in four years. 

The Colorado School of Mines tops the employment charts for the state with a graduate employment rate of 91.91%. As you might guess from the name, the school has a heavy focus on mining and the study of minerals. 

However, that’s not all they offer at this public university. The school is actually composed of 16 different academic departments that range from mathematics to nuclear science. 

In Wisconsin, no one beats Marquette University in terms of employment. It’s currently sitting at 95.55%. 

Marquette ranks highly for its academics and research--especially in the Midwest. They currently enroll a little less than 12,000 students. 

Loyola University Maryland has an employment rate of 94.19%, making it the best in the state. This private liberal arts college is run by the Jesuits and is located in Baltimore. 

The school enrolls almost 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students with over 20 degree options. Notable alumni include author Tom Clancy and former Maryland governor Herbert O’Connor. 

Culver-Stockton College has an employment rate of 94.39%, making it the highest-ranked school in Missouri. Located in Canton, MO, the private Christian college enrolls just over 1,000 students a year. 

The school eschews typical 15-week semesters in order to help students focus on fewer classes at one time, and one of its most in-demand programs is the nursing program, which partners with a local nursing college. 

Located in Terra Haute, the school has a focus on creating teachers for math, engineering, and science. The school currently has almost 2,500 undergraduate students. 

Founded as Terre Haute School of Industrial Science in 1874, the school has been training young engineers for generations.

With a post-graduation employment rate of 92.78%, Rhodes College ranks best in the state of Tennessee. This private liberal arts school in Memphis enrolls roughly 2,000 students. 

Rhodes is consistently ranked as one of the best liberal arts schools in the country, and it also ranks highly as one of the best schools for professors as well.

Located in Springfield, Massachusetts, Western New England University tops the employment ranks for the state at 95.56%. Founded in 1919, the private school enrolls roughly 4,000 students. 

The school offers both traditional liberal arts education as well as professional training in almost 50 majors. 

When it comes to Arizona, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University-Prescott beats every other university in terms of employment. The employment rate for graduates there is 92.13%. 

The college originally began as an aircraft company but switched to focus on education in the 70s. While aeronautics is an obvious focus for the college, they also offer programs in things like security and intelligence, meteorology, and even arts. 

In the state of Washington, employment rates don’t get better than for the graduates of Gonzaga University. They’ve currently got a rate of 91.73%. 

While Gonzaga is ranked as one of the best schools in the country for academics, the Gonzaga basketball program is probably the school’s biggest selling point. 

Located in Harrisonburg, Virginia, James Madison University is the best in the state for employment. Their rate is currently sitting at 94.35%. 

The school is notable for its high rankings in several areas--including master’s programs and business schools. They currently have an enrollment of over 22,000. 

When it comes to New Jersey, The College of New Jersey fares best in terms of post-graduation employment. 94.26% of students here find employment after graduation.

This public university was originally founded in 1855 as the New Jersey State Normal School. These days, it has an enrollment of over 7,000, with most of its focus being on the liberal arts. 

With a 94.13% post-graduation employment rate, Kettering University makes the top of the list for Michigan colleges. The private school, located in Flint, focuses on education in STEM fields. 

Originally known as the General Motors Institute of Technology, the school currently enrolls over 2,000 students. In addition to its employment rate, the school also ranks highly among engineering schools that don’t offer a PhD. 

Elon University tops the charts for North Carolina schools. They’ve got a post-graduation employment rate of 94.54%. 

The school enrolls almost 7,000 students and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees--including arts, sciences, law, and communications. 

The Georgia Institute of Technology tops the charts for Georgia with an employment rate of 92.51%. The main campus is in Atlanta, but the school has other satellite campuses in the state and across the world. 

While the school is most well-known for its science and technology degrees and research opportunities, it offers studies in over 30 departments. 

In the state of Ohio, Ohio Northern University boasts the most impressive post-graduation employment rate--95.86%. That also means it’s one of the best on this list. 

Founded in 1871, this private university currently has over 3,000 students. The school is made up of five colleges including arts and sciences, business administration, pharmacy, law, and engineering. 

Job prospects for Bradley University graduates look good, with a post-graduation employment rate of 93.79%. This private university is located in Peoria, IL and has a student body of almost 5,500. 

Bradley is frequently cited as one of the best universities in the Midwest and offers hundreds of undergraduate and graduate programs. 

Located in Annville, Pennsylvania, Lebanon Valley college has the best post-graduation employment rates in the state at 95.63%. 

The school has almost 2,000 students and over 40 majors. Additionally, they highly encourage their students to study abroad during their time at the college. 

Siena College is a private liberal arts school in Loudonville, New York. It’s also got the best employment rate in the state at 95.13%

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is the only school to be represented on this list twice. Its Daytona Beach campus in Florida has an employment rate of 92.13%

The school has an obvious focus on aeronautics but also offers studies in engineering. It’s also home to one of the largest ROTC programs in the country. 

Trinity University has a student employment rate of 93.52%, making it the best in the state of Texas. It’s located in San Antonio and has an enrollment of about 2,600 students. 

The school has ranked highly in several categories--including best colleges in the West and best value private colleges. 

Xavier University in New Orleans rose to the top of the charts in Louisiana. It’s got a student employment rate of 93.46%.

Xavier has the distinction of being the only historically black university in the United States to be associated with the Catholic Church. The university is a great place for students interested in pre-med or pharmacy. 

94.46% of graduates from Samuel Merritt University are employed after graduation, making it the highest-ranked school in California. The private university has a focus on health sciences and is located in Oakland, CA. 

Founded in 1909, the University graduates an overwhelming majority of the nurses working in the East Bay area. In addition to nursing, the school also provides training in physical therapy and occupational therapy.
